Earthen vessels with heavenly treasure
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves; (2 Cor. 4:7 NAS)
There is a spirit inside of man (Job 32.8). The human body is the vessel that God designed to contain the spirit. The Spirit fills your body, just as water or wine fills a container. An interesting analogy can be made from the air surrounding us. Air gives life as the human body receives the air from the environment. Even though we are surrounded by air, only the air received and stored in our lungs, can have a direct impact on our body. So it is with the realm of the spirit. Only the contents of your vessel can impact your life. The Word can only work for you when it is received in your spirit.
God is Spirit and He deals with our spirits. Whatever we receive from Him is in the nature of spirit.  When He gives to us, and we receive His Spirit into our earthen vessel, then He can fill us. God wants your vessel to be overflowing with all the fullness of Him. Eph. 3: 19 tells us “to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God”. What an amazing verse! Our earthen vessels have the capacity to contain the fullness of God to live within us. The fullness of God lived in Jesus. God wants that fullness to live in you, too. The Holy Spirit in you is not just a part of God, or some “measure” of Him. It is all of God. And He wants to fill your life with all of that fullness. He gives us the invitation to come to the “waters and drink”! Fill your earthen vessels constantly with heavenly treasure.
MEDITATE
Ponder upon the mysteries of the verse above. Heavenly treasure is found in our earthen vessels. Declare it to yourself again and again.
PRAY
Thank the Lord for coming to dwell inside of you. Ask Him to continually fill you each day to overflow with the treasure of heaven, which is Himself.
APPLY THE WORD TODAY!
If you are looking for healing, it must first be received into your spirit. You are a vessel. If you are looking for prosperity, it must first be in your spirit. Same is true for  power and wisdom. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, so let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly. Fill your life with His Word. Many believers are living with empty  vessels, and therefore struggle with constant inner emptiness in their daily lives and sometimes ministry. God has no day set in your life that He designed for you to be empty. The invitation is open. Jesus said “If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink”. Be filled constantly by the Spirit, and live daily in that place called “full of the Spirit”. Get to the Word. Fellowship with the Spirit in prayer. There is truly a place called “full of the Spirit”, and its a beautiful place to live in. Go for it!
