For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee (Isa. 60:2 KJV)
The Prophet Isaiah spoke so accurately under the Spirit about what is going on in our days. He talked about the future and said: “darkness shall cover the earth.” It is a reality to us today, and the future generations will see even more darkness until the Lord returns. What is this darkness?
It is obvious God is not speaking about physical darkness. Darkness represents sin, demonic activity with their associated grief and untold human suffering. Many people are increasing scared to death by what they see happening around the world today. As the coming of Christ approaches, with the advent of the antichrist, darkness will continue to multiply. However, as the darkness multiplies, there is a parallel and even more significant increase in the light in God’s people. While the world gets darker and darker, God’s people will get brighter and brighter.
You should prepare yourself spiritually for these days we are living in. The future belongs to the spiritually mature. The Lord made me understand a while ago how the days are fast coming when spiritual maturity will pay off because of the prevailing darkness that is hitting the earth. The maturity of your faith and the temperature of your intimacy with the Lord will be your escape from what will torment others. You do not need to be afraid of the increasing darkness. You should focus on shining brighter and brighter!
Please say the words of Isa. 60:2 with your mouth, either muttering them or speaking them out loud.
APPLY THE WORD
Get yourself ready. It is sad to see how many believers are still relying on the faith of others to deal with the issues of life. Keep your lamp always burning and do not run out of oil. Remember the five foolish virgins in Matt. 25:8-9!
Ask the Lord to help you dispel every form of darkness in your life and your world.
