By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established;  (Proverbs 24:3 ESV)

Deshen Daily devotional yesterday discussed the role of wisdom in the creation of the world from Proverbs 3:19. Let me take this further by looking at a parallel verse from Proverbs 24:3 which states that “by wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established”. Just in case you wondered if God’s wisdom is still valuable to you today outside of creation as I discussed. Let me show you the divine mystery of success and material wellbeing on this earth.

The verse states that a house is built by wisdom. What does this mean?  Let us briefly consider the word “house”. It is used figuratively and includes but not limited to a literal house. A house here represents any endeavor, enterprise, undertaking, project etc. For example, your family or business is a house you are building.

Solomon says it takes wisdom to build a house. Let me illustrate this using the literal house. Think of everything that comes into building a physical building and making it a home. Think of the many parts that have to come together to produce a structure that looks appealing and also functions properly. This is wisdom at home. Wisdom is required to know what goes where, and what functions with what for the house to be established.

Wisdom is required to build a house, whether the house of your finances, business, health, ministry, etc. God Himself had to lavish wisdom on Paul as a wise master builder to build the Church! ( 1 Cor. 3:10).

MEDITATE

 Why is wisdom required to build a house? What are you trying to build in your life at this moment?

APPLY THE WORD

God has given you wisdom in Christ. There is a reason for that wisdom. I will repeat, the overwhelming majority of our earthly problems in Church today are not power problems but a deficiency of wisdom. We do not often know what to do to get the right results or we do the right things at the wrong times or even fail to know what is right or wrong. Cry out for God’s wisdom and see that wisdom comes with riches, honor and long life (Prov. 3:16). 

PRAY

Ask the Father to reveal Christ in you to you. He is the wisdom of God!
