Our actions determine our experience here on earth
Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. (Matt. 7:24 NET)
God is sovereign, but He does not directly determine the outcomes of our lives as we often imagine. If God could do with every man whatever He wants, there would never be another tear of sorrow and grief. The truth is that what happens to us here on earth is not directly determined by what God wants for our individual lives.
God created man, and then gave him authority on earth. That authority is locked-up in our words and actions. Your choices are more powerful in determining your experience here on earth than God’s will and design for your life. God can love someone so dearly, but that individual might end up in hell if they choose to reject God, and follow the way of destruction. Man has to respond to the love of God. God has given us His Word to guide our actions, so that we consistently do the things that lead to success in our lives. Your actions will determine your health, relationships, finances, and spiritual well-being. Even if something happened to you beyond your control, there is still power in your words and actions to determine the course of your life here on earth. The first benefactor of keeping God’s Word is us, not God. He knows that what you choose to do is very authoritative here on earth. Always choose life with your mouth and actions. Be the wise person described in the scripture above.
MEDITATE
Ponder on the verse above. Do you see the one God calls “wise”? Declare to yourself that “My actions are in line with what God says. I walk in wisdom because I do the Word”.
PRAY
Thank the Lord for giving you His Word to help you shape your future. Take a moment to think deeply and honestly with the Spirit about your life.
APPLY THE WORD TODAY!
Mary gave us the best advice ever given to anyone that has ever lived. She said “Whatever He says to you, do it” (Jn. 2:5). She did not caution us to be excited about what He says, or quote, teach or memorize it. Your actions are a powerful “prophet” of your own life to tell you what your tomorrow will be. Start learning to align your actions with His Word, and your life will be an evergreen forest of all-round prosperity! That is what God wants for you.
