The Spirit of Antichrist
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world (1 Jn. 4:3 KJV)
The Apostle John said the spirit of antichrist was already in the world when he penned down the verse above in the first century A.D. It is almost 2000 years now! He introduces the phrase “spirit of antichrist.” Many of us are familiar with the coming person of the Antichrist. There will be a man, called the antichrist, who is going to be the human personalization of evil. However, we will focus on the spirit of antichrist in this devotional.
This spirit fills the world, our media, social systems, educational systems and even some religious circles. It is the spirit that seeks to erase everything about Christ from the world systems. It is the spirit that seeks to destroy every purpose of Christ in the lives of people. If it cannot kill it, it will give them a suitable replacement that looks like Christ. It is the system that will ensure you do not spend time with God but on other things. It will ensure that you are scared to death to talk about Christ. The list continues.
The spirit of antichrist is already here and working actively in our worldly systems against the purposes of Christ. Stand firm in the faith and resist it in your life.

What is the difference between the spirit of antichrist and the coming personality called the antichrist?
The spirit of antichrist is the spirit that powers the system we call “the world.” The spirit fills the world’s songs, movies, schools, economic systems, etc. Do not be carried away by this spirit. It sometimes works in very subtle ways, but the end result is that Christ will diminish in your life while the things of the world will be elevated. Watch, pray and be sober!
Ask the Lord to keep you every single day from the enticements of this spirit.
