The Day of His Power
Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth (Ps. 110:3 KJV)
David spoke prophetically about the Messiah in the verse above and says His people will be willing, volunteers and available in the day of His power. When He is ready to demonstrate His power by subjecting His enemies, His people will be more than willing to partner with Him in battle. This is a glorious description of our place in Christ!
The first two verses give us a context
“The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies” (Ps. 110:1-2 KJV)
Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God, meaning the place of absolute divine power, until His enemies are made His footstool. Who are these enemies? Paul speaking by the Spirit says “The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death” (1 Cor. 15:26 KJV). Death is an enemy, and the last to be defeated. What are the other enemies? Satan and his devils, disease, poverty, fear, etc. These are spiritual powers and authorities, which are against the will and purposes of God in your life.
These are the days or rather this is the Day of His power! Did you notice that the enemies will be subjected while Jesus was sitting at the right hand of God? So who then will do the subjecting of these enemies here on earth at this time? It is you and me! We are His battle-ax, to silence His enemies! The Kingdom of God is here, so rule and reign in the midst of your enemies!
MEDITATE
What is your place in the day of His power?
APPLY THE WORD
If God has to rule on earth, it must be through you. He can only conquer Satan, disease etc if that is true in your life. His kingdom is in you, so reign in life by faith in His Word( rod of His strength in Ps 110:2 above).
PRAY
Thank the Father for the incredible privilege of being part of His kingdom.
