Say unto wisdom, Thou are my sister
Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; And call understanding thy kinswoman (Proverbs 7:4, KJV)
The book of Proverbs personifies wisdom as a woman. And Solomon exhorts us, “say unto wisdom, Thou are my sister; And call understanding thy kinswoman”. He wants us to have a very close relationship, as close as the relationship between you and your sister or even brother.
Why does Solomon want us to be this close to wisdom? He had told us before, that wisdom is the principal thing in life(Prov. 4:7). As a hardcore charismatic, this scripture has always puzzled me. I expected God to have said power is the principal thing, not wisdom. It should be a surprise to many of us that the Lord is saying His wisdom in our life is a superior virtue than His power. He says you should call wisdom your sister. Be that closely related to her.
Wisdom here in summary refers to the ways of God; His knowledge of all things and His ways of doing things out of this knowledge of all things. We get wisdom from God by KNOWING HIM. Wisdom is the knowledge of God that also makes us live like Him or adopting His way of life. Imagine looking at life and making decisions the way God does, about your personal life, finances, marriage, business, etc? What will your life look like?? Get wisdom, and call her your sister!
MEDITATE
I want to encourage you to pause for a moment and carefully meditate on Prov. 7:4 above, and every statement in this devotional to ensure you fully understand it. Please make sure you do and ask me a question if you do not. I want to ensure you UNDERSTAND it…..you see, that is how I impart to you the wisdom of God!
APPLY THE WORD
If you understand and believe what I have written to you above, then you will devour God’s Word and cry out to know Him like never before(Prov 2:1-3). Go ahead, get wisdom!

Ask the Lord to help you to crave His wisdom in your life.
