How to Receive a Revelation of Grace

For I would have you know, brothers, that the Gospel that was preached by me is not man’s Gospel. For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:11–12 ESV)

Just as anything we know about God, God’s grace has to be revealed to us. This divine revelation can come to us through different channels. However, irrespective of God’s specific channel to reveal His grace to you, His method of revealing grace is the same: He uncovers grace by revealing His Son.

God used the Apostle Paul to unveil the mysteries of His grace to humanity. But how did Paul receive the revelation of God’s grace? God downloaded the depths of grace into Paul’s heart by revealing His Son Jesus Christ to Him. In fact, after stating that he received the Gospel through a revelation of Jesus Christ in Gal. 1:11-12, He again re-stated this fact explicitly in verse 16 that God called him “to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen(Galatians 1:16 KJV).

If you want to receive a revelation of what God’s grace is, crave a more profound revelation of Who Jesus is and the work He did for us through the cross. You might have heard me say this: grace is not merely some doctrine or teaching. Yes, there is such a theological idea as “the doctrine of grace.” However, grace is unveiled to a person’s heart as Jesus is revealed more and more to them.

Have you had a revelation of what God’s grace really is?

Grace was first revealed to you when you accepted Jesus and became saved. Sadly, many believers have remained there or close to this place of initial revelation. But there are greater depths of grace and the revelation of the Son of God. Arouse a hunger in your heart to know Jesus more and more each day.

Ask the Spirit to reveal the Son of God to you.
