The superhero of his children

Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers (Prov. 17:6 KJV)

Takes his family with him to serve the Lord

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. (Jos. 24:15 KJV)

First an excellent husband to the mother

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; (Eph. 5:25 KJV)

Teaches his family the way of the Lord

And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation. (Joel 1:3 KJV)

For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: (Ps. 78:5 KJV)

Source of Knowledge to his children

1Jo 2:13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.

Present at home to maintain order

One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) (1 Tim. 3:4-5 KJV)

Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well ( 1 Tim. 3:12 KJV)

If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly( 1 Tim. 1:6 KJV)

A Fountain of Blessing to his children after him

The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him (Prov. 20:7 KJV)

But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children; (Ps. 103:17 KJV)

And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation ( Luk 1:50 KJV)

Deep affection and love for his children

And the soul of king David longed to go forth unto Absalom: for he was comforted concerning Amnon, seeing he was dead ( 2 Sam 13:39)

Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. (Ps. 103:13 KJV)

And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept: and as he went, thus he said, O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my son! (2 Sam. 18:33 KJV)

Pronounces the father’s blessing on his children

And his father Isaac said unto him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son.And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the LORD hath blessed:Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine: (Gen. 27:26-28 KJV)

A man of prayer for his family

And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for the which I have made provision. (1 Chr. 29:19 KJV)

Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.1 (Col. 4:12 KJV)

Keeps his house in order

My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. (Prov. 3:11-12 KJV)

Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying. (Prov. 19:18 KJV)

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Prov. 22:6 KJV)

Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. (Prov. 22:15 KJV)

Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. (Prov. 23:13 KJV)

If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? (Heb. 12:7 KJV)

Thinks ahead and sets aside provisions for not only his children but his grandchildren

A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just. (Prov. 13:22 KJV)

Seeks the welfare of his children

My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me. (Prov. 27:11 KJV)

If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? (Lk. 11:11 KJV)

A man indeed, providing for his family

Brings up the children in the way of the Lord

Inspires godliness, courage and hope in his children

And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD (1 Chr. 28:20 KJV)

And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father. (1 Ki. 15:11 KJV)

Also a father to spiritual children

For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. (1 Cor. 4:15 KJV)

Protects and shelters his children

In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. (Prov. 14:26 KJV)

The LORD your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;
31 And in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the LORD thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place. (Deut. 1:30-31 KJV)

A man that has been blessed of the Lord

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.1 (Ps. 127:3-5 KJV)

Does not discourage, exasperate or provoke his children

Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged. (Col. 3:21 KJV)

Deserves, inspires and has earned the respect and honor of his children

Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old. (Prov. 23:22 KJV)

A man of courage and a fighter to defend and protect his family

Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.1 (Jos. 1:6 KJV)

Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die: because he hath cast down the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that was by it.
31 And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one hath cast down his altar. (Jdg. 6:30-31 KJV)

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Eph. 6:12 KJV)

A family guy!

Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD. (Ps. 128:3-4 KJV)

Reflects who Father God looks like to His family
