Enjoy Your Inheritance In Christ
Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. (Gal. 4:1-2 NKJ)
Your inheritance in Christ is essentially God’s gift to you as a Father to a child. When most earthly parents are passing way, they leave an inheritance, usually as wealth or properties, to the children. They will these things to the children. The will takes effect when the father dies and often stipulates the age at which the child will be granted the full benefits of the inheritance. In almost all the states of the US, the age of maturity is eighteen.
The intriguing part about the will is that though the child – before eighteen or the age appointed by the father – is the owner of everything, as the scripture above says, he or she will not enjoy any part of it but will be under the control of a servant in the house until he or she matures.
Do you know that God has willed an inheritance to you in Christ? When Christ died, the inheritance was sealed. Heaven and earth and all that there is have been willed to you. All things are yours! Just in case you did not fully understand the statement you just read, it means all the wealth that ungodly people on earth have has been willed to you!
It is so critical that we mature in the faith. It is not God withholding blessings from us. We just need to mature and enjoy our inheritance. Grow to the spiritual age of eighteen quickly, and enjoy the blessings of the fullness of heaven and earth.
