Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no (Exod. 16:4 KJV).
The Lord provided manna for the Israelites every single day for 40 years. There was no reason to store manna for the following day, because the bread came on a daily basis, without fail. This is a wonderful testimony of our Lord’s faithfulness.
We understand that manna is more than mere physical bread. In John 6:33, Jesus told the people that manna was only a shadow of the true Bread of God. The true Bread, the Word of God, gives life to the whole world.
When God talks about your daily bread, He is not just referring to giving you food to put on your table. He is referring to feeding you the daily portion of heavenly delicacies served by the Word of God.
God has a daily bread for you. He has a Word, a rhema word, to activate His life within you each day. So many of us truly struggle with the habit of sitting down to feed at God’s table every day. His Table is ready. He is waiting for His children to join Him for their daily Bread. When you resolve within yourself, to sit at God’s Table every day, and to feed upon the Bread of life as you take in His Word, only then will you begin living a healthy and victorious life.
What is the analogy between the Word of God as spiritual food, and natural bread as food for the body? What happens to a child who is not fed daily?
APPLY THE WORD
You have a seat at our Father’s Table. Do your due diligence, and be present each day for your daily bread.
Ask the Father to open your understanding to see the need for His Word in your life. Pray that He will stir up a hunger in your heart for His Word, and His Presence.
