Being Confident of this Very Thing
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6, KJV)
The Apostle Paul reminded the Philippians of the faithfulness of God with the words above. He reassures them that they can be confident in the fact that the Lord, who had begun a good work in them, will perfect and complete what He started until the He returns.
The good work Paul was speaking about in this verse was the work of salvation. It reminds us that our salvation is a process. Our spirit has been saved. The soul is being renewed in this earthly life and when Jesus returns, our physical bodies will become transformed into the glorious body that He has. How cool will that be! The Lord is faithful and will complete the work of salvation which He has started in our lives.
There are many other things the Lord has started in our lives which we can be sure He will bring them to completion.Do you know that God cannot bring a wife or husband to you and not complete it with the fruit of the womb if you desire one? God cannot make a way for you to have a job only for you to be fired the next day? He does not do uncompleted business. If He starts a good work in your life, He wants you to be confident in the fact that He will complete it.
MEDITATE
Has God started a good work in your life, family, spiritual life, finances, health, etc.? Declare the words of the verse above out loud and let them sink into your spirit.
APPLY THE WORD
Be strong. The Lord who saved you can sustain your Christian life. The Lord who called you into ministry is more than sufficient to meet every ministry demand. Be confident in this very thing! Cooperate with Him, and do not become an obstacle in any way but watch and see the faithfulness of God in your life!
PRAY
Thank the Lord for His great faithfulness towards us.
