Acts of God or Satan?
Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. (Jn. 9:3 NKJ)
The phrase “Acts of God” in US legal systems is used to refer to natural disasters. Man has always attributed every cause of suffering and grief to being an act of God. The Jews asked Jesus what sin the blind man above had committed for God to punish him with blindness.
Jesus opened the eyes of the blind man to reveal to the Jews the acts of God. The blindness was not an act of God; the healing was.
God is a good God. His will and acts were clearly displayed in the Garden of Eden. It is vitally important to understand that God is not the author of a lot of what happens in our lives and around us.
It is interesting that when calamities happen to us and happen in the world, we often ask God why. Why did God not stop that shooter from killing tens of kids in school? For the same reason He couldn’t stop you from doing what you did that day to hurt the one you love or those around you. You see, we have a free will that God cannot just override. Many people today are rejecting Christ and going to hell. Why cannot God stop them?
We live in a sin-broken world with a wicked devil. Do not ignore these things. That is why Christ went to the cross.God wants you to show the world who He really is. He is a good God and the world does not know Him. You are the light of the World, child of God!
MEDITATE
Why cannot the world see that Satan, not God, is the lord behind human suffering? See 2 Cor. 4:4.
APPLY THE WORD
Reveal the acts of God today to the world around you.
PRAY
Ask the Lord to open your eyes and avoid the mistake of calling an act of Satan in your life an act of God.
