For behold, darkness will cover the earth, And deep darkness the peoples; But the LORD will rise upon you, And His glory will appear upon you. (Isa. 60:2 NAS)
Chaos, confusion, anxiety, and fear are increasing by the minute. The systems of the world are being shaken to the core, just as He spoke thousand of years ago, that “darkness will cover the earth, and deep darkness the peoples”. The world is getting darker and darker. Fortunately, there is a “but”. While the world is getting darker, the “LORD will rise upon you, and His glory will appear upon you”. There will be two parallel trends on the earth: the world will get darker, and you will get brighter.
You are the light of the dark world we live in. The Light is in you, and shining forth as you. Notice it did not say that “we bring light into the world”. It says “you are the light of the world” ( Matt.5:14). The light is not some rays of light coming from heaven as the glory of God. That light is you! Be bold and courageous. It is your season to shine, for the LORD has risen upon you. Your fate is not to share the darkness in the world, but to shine as the light in your health, family, work, financial, and spiritual lives.
Think about the verse above for a moment. Do you realize it is talking about you? Can you see yourself in this verse?
Thank God for making you the light of this present world. Ask Him to help you shine brighter and brighter.
APPLY THE WORD TODAY!
If you meet someone suffering from depression, their fight is with darkness. You are light to that person. If you meet someone today who does not know Christ, and is heading to eternal destruction in hell, that is darkness waiting for your light. If everyone is afraid of the economic and political climate in the world, do not join them in their fear. You are the light in the dark world around you. Shine your light today!
