When God Steps in and Fights Your Battles • Deshen Daily

And in the morning watch the LORD in the pillar of fire and of cloud looked down on the Egyptian forces and threw the Egyptian forces into a panic, clogging their chariot wheels so that they drove heavily. And the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from before Israel, for the LORD fights for them against the Egyptians” (Exodus 14:24–25, ESV)

When the LORD opened the red sea for the nation of Israel to pass through, the entire host of the Egyptian army followed them into the sea that had been divided. I will think that a normal military host or commandeer should have noticed that it is not normal for the sea to open up for a group of people to pass through! Yet Pharaoh’s army followed! God had determined to destroy them completely! You can guess when they realized that the LORD was fighting for Israel —yes, in the middle of the sea!

When Pharaoh’s army regained their senses, they said: “let us flee from before Israel, for the LORD fights for them against the Egyptians.” The LORD Himself hath taken over the battle and was at war with Pharaoh. Whoever fights against you is fighting against the Lord Himself. This is why you do not have to be concerned about those who do not want you or who might have secret plants to destroy your life. When they show up, they will might with the Lord Himself in battle! As a believer in Christ, the Lord says you are not fighting against humans, but against demonic spirits. However, there are some people who will take upon themselves to fight against you. You do not need to fight against them in return. Just allow the Lord to step in and fight the battle for you, whether in your neighborhood, place of work, business, etc. This is what the Lord wants you to do

“The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” (Exodus 14:14, KJV)

Just hold your peace or be silent. That is, do not fret, be anxious, fearful etc. If you want the Lord to handle your battles in this life, then you have to hold your peace.

Why did God fight for Israel? How does that relate to you today in Christ?

APPLY THE WORD

Let it be ingrained in your consciousness that the Lord is with you and whoever or whatever comes against you comes against the Lord. Just hold your peace, and let the Lord fight your battles!
