Planning with God

For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he has sufficient to finish it? (Lk. 14:28 KJV)

Planning with God showing a woman that is thinking

There is tremendous wisdom in preparation and planning. No preparation is actually preparing to fail in whatever endeavor we are engaging in! Success is hardly accidental. It is often well planned out well in advance. Planning is hard work, the reason why it is easy to be pushed aside.

Jesus showed us the wisdom of planning in the scripture above. It is expected that every one of us will first gauge his or her finances before embarking on a house building project to know in advance if we have what it takes to complete the job. Success is often achieved in this behind the scenes process before it is seen outside. The biggest and greatest things in life are done “behind the curtain”. That is where the greatest ideas that have changed our times have come from. They are hardly ever from the stage.

And this is what is most important to you as a believer. The Holy Spirit is your advantage in planning. You will be amazed at the ideas and directions you will receive if you learn to think with God ahead of your projects. My best moments of inspiration are during my daily prayer and meditation. I often receive ideas that blow my mind away, because my mind gets spiritually empowered. Take advantage of what you have. Start engaging the wisdom in planning, and do so with the Spirit as your Helper.

MEDITATE

Do you have the habit of preparing or planning in life, or you follow the wind and drive with the flow? What are some things that could go wrong when we fail to plan, either in our ministries, finances, families, business, etc?

APPLY THE WORD

I encourage you to make out time and sit with God to plan your life. Have a moment to think with God and watch His ideas begin to flood your mind.

PRAY

Ask the Father to give you the wisdom to plan and prepare in life.
