Jesus has crushed Satan for us

For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. (1 Jn. 3:8 KJV)

One of Satan’s most clever and succesful tactics is to keep us ignorant of his activity. It is to his advantage when we rationalize demonic activity as “natural”. Satanic operations are so intense today, and vary in complexity and intensity from one region of the world to another.

The scriptures exhort us not to be ignorant of the devices of the devil. We should be very familiar with what Jesus has done to Satan. Genesis 3:15 records the first prophetic word about the coming Messiah, and how He would crush the head of Satan. It says “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel ” (Gen. 3:15). Jesus came for this very purpose, to crush the head of Satan. The scripture above tells us this is the purpose why Jesus was revealed on the earth. Rest in the victory of Jesus over Satan.

MEDITATE

Look at 1 Jn. 3:8 again. Can you see the purpose of Jesus coming? Do you see what He did to Satan?

PRAY

Give God thanks for sending Jesus to rescue us from the grip of Satan. Bless Him for the victory that He has won for us.

APPLY THE WORD TODAY!

Jesus already crushed Satan’s head, so we do not have to! God wants us to enforce that victory over Satan in every part of our lives. Strengthen your faith in this truth, and let it take firm root in you. Be absolutely certain that Jesus has crushed Satan and all his host. Uncertainty, doubts, and unbelief in our hearts are fertile grounds for demons. Do not be afraid of demonic activity, for the victory is ours. Be grounded in the faith, and begin to exercise your God-given power and authority over Satan and demons by speaking in faith to any arena of your life where you sense demonic activity.
