Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him (1 Chr. 29:23 KJV)
The Kingdom of God that has come into the world is essentially the reign of God on earth. It is essential to understand what the kingdom of God is, and how it operates on the earth if we have to live in the dominion that God has promised.
The scripture above reveals a remarkable truth about the Kingdom of God. The first part contains an astonishment opening clause. It says “Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father”. It says Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD, not the throne of David his father. He calls David’s throne the throne of the LORD. What does this mean?
The LORD was actually the King of Israel. David’s throne was His throne. He was reigning on the earth through David as king. I pray you understand fully the statement you just read! The kingdom of God today operates in and through God’s people. That means until you reign, God cannot reign. You are the king(small “k”) through whom the King reigns. That is why we call Him King of kings. There is no kingdom of God on earth when sin, disease, Satan, poverty, fears, anxieties, etc are still reigning, that is, controlling and ruling God’s people. He reigns in heaven. But His reign on the earth in your life depends on you. You cannot fail God. He must reign, as you and in you!
What does God mean when He says we will reign in life? ( Rom. 5:17). Declare right now that “I am a child of grace, born of the Spirit to reign in life over every infirmity, satanic oppression, disease, poverty, fears, and worries!”
APPLY THE WORD
God reigns on earth in your world through you. That means He starts by reigning over you as you surrender to Him, and then and only then can He reign through you to subject His enemies. Let God have His way in your heart.
Thank the Lord for the opportunity to reign in life through Christ.
