“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Pet. 3:18 NKJ).
Grace grows and increases! The scripture above commands and encourages us to grow in grace, meaning it is possible for you to increase the grace that is upon your life. But what does growing in grace mean? First, it does not mean increasing God’s love or favor upon your life. You cannot get any more love or favor than that which God already gave you when you accepted Christ. Neither can you get an updated version of the salvation package. Everything that grace paid for has been handed to us by faith in Christ, and there is nothing better, no upgrades left.
You will quickly understand that although we are all saved and loaded with this package, we enjoy and live at different levels of manifestation of this favor in our lives. You are in God’s presence, but we experience that presence to different degrees. Christ has healed all of us, but not every one of us is healed. You see, the extent of grace that you see manifesting in your life is the level of grace you are operating in. It may also include your ministry, where the level of grace you are functioning in is the level of God’s power and wisdom manifesting through you. God says His will is for you to increase your level, because there is much more. Grow in grace! The Apostle Peter tells us how to multiply grace in our lives, saying “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord” (2 Pet. 1:2 NKJ). Revelation and faith are the keys to increasing grace in your life. You cannot experience or enjoy any benefit of grace that is bigger than the revelation of Christ and the faith at work in you. Step up today and enjoy all that God has for you!
