To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven (Eccl. 3:1 KJV).
There is a time and a season for everything, and our God certainly works in seasons. There is a time for the year to begin, and there is a time for the year to end! It takes wisdom to know the seasons of life, and what is appropriate in those seasons.
There are opportunities for every one of us, and those opportunities come in seasons. You will not find them everyday. There are some opportunities that will present themselves only once in an entire lifetime. Life is unstoppable, and moves quickly. Life does not catch up with us; we catch up with it.
When life brings a new season, the wise respond, while the foolish ignore the opportunity. Solomon said “he that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame” (Prov. 10:5 KJV). Sleeping at a season of harvest is truly shameful. Would you like to be the father or mother of this unwise son? I think not.
The year has come to an end, and every year’s end is a season in itself. It is a season of gratitude for the Lord’s goodness during the year. It is a season when the wise consider the past, and plan for the future. You are in a season right now. Seek God’s guidance on what you ought to do, as this is wise in itself.
What season of life are you in right now? If you do not know, you may be in a season of confusion and uncertainty. It would be wise to seek the Lord for direction.
APPLY THE WORD
Take a moment this year’s end, and see if you made progress with the Lord.
Ask the Lord to open your eyes to always see the season of life you are in.
