But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the Father (Galatians 4:2 KJV)
Paul teaches us an outstanding truth in Galatians 4 about our inheritance in Christ. You are a child of God, and as a child in the house, you are entitled to an inheritance. Your inheritance in Christ is God’s glory, the mind-blowing fellowship with God’s presence, partaking in the divine nature, living God’s very life, etc.
However, Paul notes that kids in generally are not allowed to take possession of their inheritance until they reach maturity age. Let’s assume the father of a child left a will and stated that the estate that belongs to the child should only be given to that child when he or she turns 21. The father has therefore set the time of inheritance at age 21.
Our heavenly Father has already set a time for us to enjoy our inheritance. Yes, there is a set time for you to be full of God’s presence, overcome that disease, rule over demons, live in wisdom and power, etc. This might be surprising to some of you, and I pray you catch this teaching for it will change your life. What age then has God set for you to be healed of that disease or break that addiction? Well, it is not a chronological age as we do naturally. It is a spiritual age. It is the age of spiritual maturity, which can occur when you are 21 or when you are 99. Anytime you grow up spiritually to the maturity age, there are things you have struggled with before that will stop troubling you.
Some of you might be thinking God is waiting for you to turn 40 or maybe 60 before that anointing breaks in your life. Well, there is no set age in heaven for you in most cases. Some of you will step into a level of glory you have never known if you will grow up, fear God and move away from sexual immorality. For others, the day you will surrender to the Spirit’s leading, demons will stop chasing you and start running away from you. For others, if you will renew your mind, that chain of depression, addiction or fear will fall off immediately.
You see, God’s set time is not determined in heaven for many things in your life. Granted, there will be some aspects when God Himself will alter things but that is not the case for the majority of us. Let me ask you this question as I close: ae you ready for a greater level of glory and power? The Lord has a message for you. He is waiting for you to grow up to the spiritual maturity age and enjoy your blessings in Christ.
Have you wondered to yourself why God seems to be withholding certain blessings from you? Is it that He is withholding those blessings or you are just not at the maturity age yet? NB. kids are not given their inheritance to control so there are some things baby Christians will never enjoy!
APPLY THE WORD
The greatest need for the Church today is to grow up to spiritual maturity. Gifts of the Spirit are wonderful but that is not the Church’s greatest need now. If you want to move with the great wind of the Spirit blowing right now, commit yourself to grow spiritually to become mature in the faith. His Word is your food for growth.
Thank the Father for your inheritance in Christ and ask the Spirit to help you grow up and enjoy what is yours.
