But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD (Num. 14:21 KJV)
The LORD made a promise to Israel in the Old Testament that the earth will be filled with the glory of the LORD. It was a promise to Israel. It is a reality to the Church today.
Israel saw the glory of God as a pillar of fire, a pillar of cloud, fire and smoke upon mount Sinai, a cloud upon the Tabernacle and the mercy seat, light, etc. These were extraordinary supernatural experiences of God.
Nevertheless, the LORD tells us that the glory of the Old Covenant cannot be compared with the exceeding glory that will be revealed in us.
The glory of God is the visible manifestation of God’s presence, attributes, and qualities. God is beautiful, and every manifestation of Him is filled with majesty, spender, and awe. Israel saw a shadow of the glory. The fire, cloud, smoke and other physical manifestations were only a shadow of the real thing to come. The promise of the glory filling the earth does not mean you will see fire or cloud all over the earth. The fire, cloud, light etc were only VISIBLE manifestations of divine presence. Today, the glory of God dwells inside the believer in Christ who has not become the VISIBLE manifestation of the invisible God! You are now the fire. You are now the light. You are the one to reveal God’s power, wisdom, love, kindness, etc to the world. You are the glory of God on the earth today!
MEDITATE
How will God fill the earth with His glory? Was the LORD referring to some divine light flashing across the earth?
APPLY THE WORD
As light, you are to show the world what God looks like. This is why a sinful lifestyle is a spiritual catastrophe because your purpose in life is to demonstrate God in the way you talk and act. Fulfill your ministry!
PRAY
Thank the LORD for the wonderful blessing of being called to partake of His glory.
