So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, (Eph. 3:17 NASB)
Christ lives in us—that is the mystery of mysteries in the New Testament. He has become united as one with His Church, which is His Body. Paul prayed in the scripture above that “Christ may dwell” in the hearts of the Ephesian Christians.
How does Christ live in our hearts? This is not the same as the new birth, when we “accepted Christ into our hearts.” Paul was not praying above for the Ephesian Christians to get born again. They were already new creations! Christ dwells in our hearts by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and by His Word! The Jesus who lives in you is the Holy Spirit! And the Spirit continuously fills our hearts with His Word. Be filled with Christ, the fullness of God!
Think about the mystery in the scripture above. Declare that “Christ is dwelling in me.”
Thank the Lord for the wonders of grace and that Christ has come to dwell in your heart to become one with you.
ACT ON THE WORD!
If Christ lives in you, it means you are no longer just human! Divinity dwells in you. Whenever anything challenges you, be still and remember that Christ, with all His wisdom, lives inside you. Recall that He is there to guide you and give you all the power you need to live in victory. Then laugh and rejoice!
