Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness (Col. 1:11 KJV)
Spiritual strength is crucial for daily Christian living. It is the dynamo that powers the Christian life. We really learn what spiritual strength is when we can’t find the strength we need to face our circumstances. Have you ever been so anxious that, even though you know God commanded you to be anxious for nothing, you just felt too weak and powerless? You knew the Word, but could not muster the strength.
Spiritual strength is needed to do spiritual things, just as physical strength is needed to carry out physical tasks. The verse above gives us an important insight regarding strength: God strengthens us, by His power, to be patient and joyful! It takes power to be joyful. It takes power to be patient. As a matter of fact, it takes power to bear any fruit of the Spirit.
Many believers think God’s power is only visible in miracles or in “falling under the anointing”. His anointing operating through us can certainly lead to miracles or spiritual experiences, as such. Similarly, the power of God operates not only in ministry, but in your day-to-day life as well. His power is the source of spiritual strength, equipping you to accomplish and become what God has intended for your life. Many believers are faltering in the dilemma of trying to do spiritual things without spiritual strength. Just like a car on an empty fuel tank, a believer trying to operate without spiritual strength will only sputter and stall.
Why do you think God wants you to be strengthened? Declare that “I am strengthened by the power of God do be and do all that He has commanded me”.
