“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all” (2 Cor. 13:14 NAS).
The blessing of blessings to the believer in Christ is the gift of God’s presence living inside of us. The Presence of God that was upon the Tabernacle in the Old Testament as a cloud now lives within the believer in Christ. God has come to make His dwelling place in His people through His Spirit.
The same presence you feel in Church during a worship service lives with you every single day. God’s purpose is for your life to always be immersed in His presence. The experience of many believers is that they feel as though God is at the North Pole and they are at the South. It is possible to have God’s presence and yet be completely disconnected from it practically. The good news is that you can cultivate God’s presence in your life by learning to fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Cultivate the consciousness of His presence. You do this by thinking about Him, and learning to talk with Him. Make it a habit of remembering that God lives in you, then just say “I praise you, Lord, for making me your dwelling place.”
Look at the word “fellowship” in the scripture above. Can you imagine a perfect scene where you are sitting with Jesus in a lounge? What would you say to Jesus if He was sitting with you where you are now?
APPLY THE WORD
Look for an opportunity to act on the Word today. If God lives inside of you, it means you can talk to Him anytime and you can listen to His voice. Make it a point today to remember the Holy Spirit living inside of you, and say “thank you, Lord, for making me your temple.” Keep this attitude and you will be on your way to cultivating God’s presence and the anointing of God in your life.
Ask the Spirit to open your understanding to know how to cultivate His presence in your life.
