Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. (Isa. 60:1 )
We know that our attitude in circumstances is very important in our day to day life. It is more important than talents and skills in determining how far we go in life. There are well talented and gifted individuals who just cannot make it in life because of their attitude.
Talents can take us quickly to a top position but attitude keeps us there or can make that height of success quite a challenge for that individual. Attitude makes us do the things that produce the intended results. Smarter students get smarter by studying harder, while those who think should have studied even harder usually do not. The rich often know and do what the poor do not and continue to get richer while the poor continue to get poorer. Our attitude today determines where we will be tomorrow in life. The reason you are broke might simply be a bad financial attitude-you just spend too much that you have. The reason an individual might be sick might simply be a bad eating attitude.
The same is true with our spiritual life. Attitude is everything in spiritual matters. The scripture above says “arise, shine”. God was not talking about arising by changing our physical position. He was referring to our spiritual position. The command to arise is a command to change our spiritual position to align with Him so that He can shine through us. Our attitude is a spiritual position we are adopting. It determines what will happen to us. A grateful spirit is a spiritual attitude. Joy opens up our hearts. Fear puts a block on the way of the Spirit in helping us. Laziness and a stingy attitude will invite poverty, while a giving and diligent spirit in what you do will attract wealth. If you need outcome A, find out from God’s word what attitude you should adopt and spiritually position yourself accordingly. There are no accidents in the realm of the spirit. We maintain a healthy attitude in life as Christians by always doing what God’s Word commands. It spiritually positions us for success in everything we do.
The Word in your mind and mouth (1 Tim 4:15; Joshua 1: 8)
Think on the scripture above. Is there an area in your life that you need to “arise” before any shining will take place?
Water the Seed (word) to grow. Invite the Spirit’s strength! (Isa 32:15; Zach 4:6)
Pray for grace to adjust yourself. If changing attitude was easy to come by, we will not have difficulties with it today. Ask the Spirit to help you make whatever adjustments and changes He has commanded you today.
APPLY THE WORD TODAY!
Your door to a blessed life today is doing God’s Word. Refuse to be a hearer or reader only! ( James 1:22-26)
It’s your turn today-arise, shine! Spiritually position yourself today for success.
